Augustana District "Church Talk"
Church Talk
In cooperation with the Institute of Lutheran Theology, the Augustana District is able to offer ChurchTalk – a service to provide conversation and support for people finding themselves in various situations. These are online, real time groups, where participants both see and hear one another via the internet. We invite Augustana, LCMC, and ELCA participants.
To participate, you will need the following equipment: high speed internet connection, a webcam, and a head-set microphone.
Procedurally, you need to contact the group’s Host by email, stating your interest in participating. The Host will email you the web link, along with a password. At the appointed time, simply link to the website.
We have three ChurchTalk groups:
Pastor Talk
· For pastors who have led, or who are leading, their churches out of the ELCA.
· Surviving the bruises and personal hurts experienced
· Rebuilding and restoring your church’s ministry
· Support one another, share encouragement, frustrations, hopes, and ideas
· First-timers are always welcome
· PastorTalk meets online every 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 1:00-2:00 Central Time

Leadership Talk
· Primarily intended for lay leaders of congregations:
- presidents, transition task force chairs
- where pastors are road blocks to authentic congregational process
· Discuss strategies for effective congregational process
· Consider legal and constitutional matters
· First-timers are always welcome
· LeadershipTalk meets online every 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. Central Time.

Mission Start Talk
· For pastors who serve mission start-up congregations.
· Share ideas, challenges, and strategies for mission congregations unique to our day
· First-timers are always welcome
· MissionTalk meets online, the first Thursday of the month, at 1:30 (Central Time).
· Hosted by Pastor Kelly Wasberg.

YouthTalk
· A monthly gathering of people in Youth Ministry.
· Grab a cup of coffee and meet us online as we talk about all the joys and struggles of youth ministry.
· Open for full time, part time, or volunteer youth ministers. We’ll discuss a monthly theme and have a good casual discussion about ministry. (January- Networking; Feb- Youth and Worship; March- Confirmation)
· First Tuesday of the month, at 10:00 a.m. (Central Time)
· Hosted by Dave Wollan (davidw@faithlc.com) and Steve Olcott (ctkyouth@hutchtel.net), youth directors at two Augustana District churches in Hutchinson, MN. E-mail them for more information and to receive a web-link for the group.
